Which projector screen do you need?

Manual pull-down — the simplest and most affordable. Mounts to wall or ceiling, pulls down when you need it. Best for bedrooms and study rooms.

Motorised — drops from a ceiling housing at the press of a remote and disappears when you are done. The cleanest look for living rooms, and the one most often planned into a renovation.

Portable and floor-up — free-standing screens that need no drilling. Ideal for renters, HDB flats where you cannot mount on the wall, and outdoor movie nights.

ALR (ambient light rejecting) — a specialist surface that rejects room light and keeps contrast in a bright room. Essential for ultra short throw projectors and daytime viewing.

Fixed frame — a permanently tensioned surface for dedicated home cinema rooms. The flattest, sharpest image of any type.

What size?

100 inches suits most Singapore living rooms at a 3 metre viewing distance; 120 inches if you sit further back or want the full cinema feel. Measure the wall width first: a 100-inch 16:9 screen is about 2.2 metres wide, a 120-inch about 2.66 metres. Bring your floor plan and we will tell you what fits.

Screen or white wall?

A wall works for a first try. A screen gives a brighter, more even image with better contrast, especially in rooms with some ambient light — and an ALR screen can make a projector usable in daylight. Read our screen vs wall comparison.
